Students will be accepted through a lottery process as seats become available. If interested in enrolling for this year or next school year, we encourage you to apply today!
Jefferson Academy’s Enrollment (OE) period for the 2020-2021 school year will begin on Monday, January 6, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. through Monday, January 27, 2020. The first lottery will be held on Monday, January 27, 2020. Any openings that become available after January 27th will be filled on an as-needed basis throughout the year using a computerized lottery process.
Families will be notified via e‐mail of their child’s acceptance into the school and through the computerized lottery program. Families selected will be notified of the next steps in the registration process and what timeline they will need to follow.
Please keep in mind if you have applied in the 2019-2020 school year and your child has not been selected, you will need to re‐apply in the database for the 2020-2021 school year. They will not be “rolled over” to the next school year. Preferences for teachers, administrators, board members, or siblings of current students will be in accordance with our charter application and state and federal laws. Every effort will be made to accept all siblings within an individual family, but this may not be possible due to capacity on class sizes.
Although students currently attending JA will not be placed in a lottery each year, they will need to complete the returning student registration process for the 2020-2021 school year along with the annual policies acknowledgment. This information will be sent to parents on December 2, 2019.
We are still accepting students for the 2019-2020 school year. Please contact our main office to submit an enrollment application.
Jefferson Academy may enroll up to 825 elementary students in grades K-6. Available spaces will be filled at random from the lottery pool. Families will be notified via e-mail of their child’s acceptance into the school through the computerized lottery program. Families selected will be notified of the next steps in the registration process and what timeline they will need to follow.
Applications for new families will continue to be accepted throughout the school year. Any openings that become available after the initial lottery will be filled on an as-needed basis through a randomized lottery process.

Completion and submission of an enrollment application does not guarantee admission to, or constitute acceptance in, Jefferson Academy. Please be sure to fill out ALL appropriate information and requested fields before you submit the application. Be sure to double check dates, phone numbers, and email addresses. This will also be e-mailed to you automatically.
Should there be more students applied than positions available, student names will be randomly ordered and chosen on that basis, referred to as a lottery. Every effort will be made to accept all siblings in an individual family, but this may not be possible due to the cap on class sizes and the lottery process. Siblings of students currently in the school will be given preference if openings become available.
