Parent Involvement

We love our Jefferson Academy families and community. Your involvement makes a difference in our school and for our students.

July 26, 2021

Dear Jefferson Academy Families,
We hope your summer is going well.  We are so grateful for everyone’s support through last year.  Our whole Jefferson community came together to provide a quality education during a difficult year.  We are looking forward to next school year with renewed hope and enthusiasm. We wanted to take this opportunity to share with you a new approach to involving parents in our school.  Instead of a traditional PTO, Jefferson Academy will be using a committee approach to our traditional and new activities.  The Jefferson Academy administration will establish committees that parents can volunteer to work on for a specific event.  This approach will allow parents to contribute to those areas that they have interest in and not have to make a yearlong commitment.  Parents may choose to work on one committee or several depending on their interest.  Committees will be established around activities/events such as Veteran’s Day, Yearbook, Book Fair, etc.
The administration and teachers are excited to work together with parents this coming school year in establishing a positive collaboration for events that benefit the students of Jefferson.

“Parent involvement in education is crucial. No matter their income or background, students with involved parents are more likely to have higher grades and test scores, attend school regularly, have better social skills, show improved behavior, and adapt well to school.”
